About Anaphora
Anaphora is an independent business development firm based in San Diego, California. It is run by two people, and that is deliberate. The research and the outreach are done by the same small team, so nothing gets lost between the person who found the account and the person who wrote to it.
We started this because the standard version of outbound is bad in a way that is obvious from the receiving end. Lists get bought, messages get blasted, and the companies doing it burn their own domains to send mail nobody wanted. The work we do is slower and there is less of it, which is the point.

Aidan Sogorka
Partner, research and systems
Aidan handles research, data and the systems the work runs on. He studies finance at San Diego State and has built pricing and internal software for a mortgage lender and an AI team, which is where the habit of citing a source for every number came from.

An independent business
This matters to clients, so it is written down rather than assumed. Anaphora is an independently established business. We are not an employee, a staffing arrangement or a subcontracted headcount.
- We hold ourselves out to the public as available to provide these services, and we are accepting new clients.
- We are available to provide the same or similar services to more than one client, and we are free to take on others at any time.
- We set our own prices, negotiate our own terms, and contract under our own business name.
- We control how the work is done, including the methods, the tooling and the schedule.
- We supply our own tools, systems, data sources and sending infrastructure.
- We maintain our own business registration, our own business location, and our own branded business email domain.
Where a client's own compliance rules apply to work we do for them, we follow them. That is a term of the engagement and not a change to any of the above.
